hmm, I posted quite some info, however there must be something I could try to
get dvd playback up and running. like the compiler I should use, or any flags
i could try? I read some forum posts of gentoo users running 2.6 and having no
problem with dvdplayback :(
2.4 kernel?
For your logs to be useful, please export the environment variable
DVDCSS_VERBOSE=2 so that libdvdcss prints its debug messages. Also, a
log of potential DVD errors from "dmesg" would be useful.

I used libdvdcss 1.2.8 (latest CVS) but still get the can't seek to block
256 error
Is that since you switched to kernel 2.6? Does it work again with a256 error
2.4 kernel?
