I get the same problem with xine, mplayer or vlc. My system is:
- Debian unstable (kernel 2.6.7)
- libdvdcss 1.2.8
- libdvdread3 0.9.4
Fortunately, this problem only prevent reading some supplemental
material of the disc. All episodes can be viewed without a
problem.
The only hitch is the slow startup time of all DVD player due to the
fact that libdvdcss always retry to crack the key.
So could you either:
- solve the cracking problem (probably easier said than done..)
- make libdvdcss register the fact that the VOB file cannot be cracked
so that libdvdcss does not try to crack the key at each start of a
DVD player. The mechanism would be similar to the cache mechanism
implemented with .libdvdcss directory
Thanks for listening.
